Sohodox is a Document Imaging software using which you can scan and manage your documents. Sohodox Document Imaging software converts your paper documents to digital content with the help of a scanner.
Sohodox works with any TWAIN complaint scanners. It has a very powerful scanning tool using which you can scan your documents and add them to Sohodox. The scanned documents can be modified by using its powerful Image editor tools. You can also manage your scanned documents or any electronic documents by using Sohodox.
Using the Scanning tool you can scan single or multi-page documents and save them as TIFF or PDF. The Image Editor allows you to modify images and save it back to the Sohodox DB. Using this window you can crop certain area of the image, rotate or flip an image. You can also burn the annotation i.e. make them permanent on the document.
You can also annotate your documents by using the Annotation toolbar. Sohodox annotation is easy to use and has much more features. Using the annotation toolbar you can mark, highlight, insert notes/bookmarks/stamps and signature. You can also create your custom stamps and signature in Sohodox. You can also annotate a PDF document in Sohodox (This is only possible if you are using the built-in PDF viewer). You can also choose to print documents along with its annotation. If you wish you can also burn the annotations on the documents to make them permanent.
You can use OCR and IFilters to extract text from scanned images, PDF and Word document. Sohodox can use its built-in OCR engine or Microsoft Office OCR engine (if available). You can also copy the extracted text and paste it in another application. If the words are not recognized correctly you can modify the extracted text and save it.
Sohodox offers a quick search box as well as a way of creating multi condition queries (for e.g. searching for : All invoices under $500 from January 2008). You can even save queries for later re-use.
Sohodox also allows you import data from a CSV file. Using the import feature you can migrate your data from other programs to Sohodox. You can also export documents along with their data from Sohodox to a CSV, HTML, Excel or XML file. You can also burn all the documents to a CD/DVD from Sohodox.
Sohodox features full multi-user support. This means multiple scanning stations and users from each station can simultaneously work with the same database.
You can arrange your documents in folders or quickly classify documents by attaching multiple text tags to them. You can also use a combination of both these methods.
