doQuments* Workflow

The doQuments* Workflow Add-On lets you route documents to users to perform actions .


doQuments Workflow is an Add-On which can be used to route documents/tasks to a particular user (or a set of users) to perform actions as per your current work processes.

In other words doQuments Workflow helps with the automation of business processes. A user can either be a person or a computer application.

The doQuments* Workflow 1.1 is available for download.
You can use doQuments* Workflow to automate business processes of your organization by creating and assigning tasks using logical and rule based procedures that are similar to those used by your organization to do the same task in real life scenario.

Usage Scenario


An organization called Acme Corp. generates large volumes of documents everyday. Multiple employees at Acme Corp. generate documents which must be approved by their supervisor. Acme Corp. wants to implement workflow which will cut down the time spent to manage these documents and thus increase the productivity of their organization.
Acme Corp. has the following business process (we will consider one user named John who creates the documents and then routes them to his Supervisor for approval)...
Here is the Acme Corp.'s business process...
  • John creates a document.
  • John sends the document to his Supervisor for approval.
  • The Supervisor is then notified that John has sent a document.
  • The Supervisor reviews the document and approves or rejects it accordingly.
You can now create a workflow based on the above process using the doQuments Workflow Designer .

Requirements


The doQuments* Workflow Add-On can only be installed on a machine on which the doQuments Desktop Client is installed. Also it will only run on a machine on which...

1. doQuments Enterprise Edition (Desktop Client) is installed.
         OR
2. doQuments Evaluation Version (Desktop Client) is installed.
In this case the doQuments Workflow Add-On will work in evaluation mode. Make sure that Security is enabled.

3. The Workflow Add-On will only work with doQuments 4.6 or higher.

4. The doQuments Workflow Add-On cannot be run on a machine on which doQuments Professional Edition is installed.

Important Note : Please download the Workflow DB as well as the Workflow Add-On. You must install the Workflow DB first and then the Workflow Add-On. Workflow DB must only be installed on one machine on the network. Workflow Add-On integrates with the doQuments User Interface and is available through the 'Workflow' menu (which is added to doQuments after the Add-On is installed).
