doQuments Upgrade Setup Instructions

Important Note:
From version 3.2 onwards, the need for doQuments Authentication Server has been eliminated. It has been replaced with doQuments Security Manager. Unlike doQuments Authentication Server, you do not need to keep doQuments Security Manager running at all times.

We strongly recommend that you upgrade to doQuments 3.2 or higher version.
In order to do so, you will need to uninstall doQuments Authentication Server and install doQuments Security Manager. You will also need to upgrade all copies of doQuments to doQuments 3.2 or higher version.

Instructions for moving from doQuments Authentication Server to doQuments Security Manager:

1. Make sure all copies of doQuments and doQuments Authentication Server are closed.
2. Make a backup of the doqument.dqs file. This file is located in doQuments Authentication Server folder (it is normally the 'C:\Program Files\doQuments Authentication Server').
3. Uninstall doQuments Authentication Server.
   To do this click Start > Programs > doQuments > Uninstall doQuments Authentication Server.
4. If doQuments Authentication Server folder is not removed by the uninstall program then please delete it manually.
5. Run the Security Manager install program (dqsecsetup.exe).
6. After the setup is complete copy the doqument.dqs file from the backup location to doQuments Security Manager folder. You will be prompted to ovewrite the existing file. Click the Yes button.
7. Run doQuments Security Manager. You will be prompted to login.
8. Login with your user name and password and then exit doQuments Security Manager.

Instructions for upgrading to the latest version of doQuments:

1. Run doQuments upgrade setup.
2. After the setup is complete run doQuments.
3. You may be prompted to upgrade the settings.dqs file. Click the Yes button to proceed with the upgrade.
4. You will then be prompted for the location of doQuments Security Manager.
5. Click the browse button to select the folder in which doQuments Security Manager is installed (it is normally the 'C:\Program Files\doQuments Security Manager' folder).
6. You will now be prompted to login to doQuments.
7. Login with your user name and password.
