doQuments Web Client - Set Folder Permissions

Follow the instructions given below to set the folder permissions for the doQuments Web Client...
 Windows 2000 (Professional / Server)
 Windows XP
 Windows Server 2003

 Windows 2000 (Professional / Server)

  1. Using windows explorer open the folder which contains the folder to set the permissions for.
    For example: If you want to set the permissions for the folder C:\inetpub\wwwroot\doquments then open the folder C:\Inetpub\wwwroot in windows explorer. View screenshot
  2. Right click the doquments folder and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
    The Properties dialog will be displayed.
  3. Move to the Security page of the Properties dialog. View screenshot
  4. From Group or user names list select the user name that begins with IUSR_ . The full user name will be IUSR_ followed by the name of your machine.
    For example: If your machine was called MACHINE1 then the user name you must select will be called IUSR_MACHINE1. View screenshot
  5. If the user is not listed the click on the Add... button to add the user. The Select Users or Groups dialog will be displayed. From the list select the user name that begins with IUSR_ . The full user name will be IUSR_ followed by the name of your machine.
  6. Click on the Add button and then click the OK button to close the Select Users or Groups dialog.
  7. The selected user will now be displayed in the Properties dialog.
  8. Assign the Read and Write permissions to the selected IUSR_MACHINE1 user. To do this check the boxes in the Allow column for both the Read and Write permissions (if the Allow box for the Read or the Write permission is already checked leave it checked). View screenshot
  9. Click the OK button to save the changes and close the Properties dialog.

 Windows XP

  1. Using windows explorer open the folder which contains the folder to set the permissions for.

  2. Right click the doquments folder and select Properties from the pop-up menu. The Properties dialog will be displayed.
  3. Move to the Security page of the Properties dialog. View screenshot
  4. If you do not see the Security page on the Properties dialog, click the Folder Options menu option in the Tools menu on the windows explorer. The Folder Options dialog will be displayed. Move to the View page of the Folder Options dialog. In the Advanced Settings list uncheck the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) option. Click the OK button to save the changes and close the Folder Options dialog. View screenshot
  5. From Group or user names list select the user name that begins with IUSR_ . The full user name will be IUSR_ followed by the name of your machine.
