Special Notes: Windows Workgroup Installation

Read this section only if...

1.The machine on which you installed doQuments Web Client is part of a Windows Workgroup

AND

2.One or more of the following are not located on the machine on which you installed doQuments Web Client (i.e. they are located on some other machine on the workgroup)....

The doQuments Security DB
The doQuments Settings DB
A doQuments DB that you intend to use with the web client
A Storage Folder of a doQuments DB that you intend to use with the web client
System Folder of a doQuments DB that you intend to use with the web client

When your machine is part of a Windows Workgroup then doQuments Web Client Setup cannot automatically set permissions on folders which are not on the same machine on which doQuments Web Client Setup is being run. In this case you need to manually set the required permissions.

To assign permissions, first create a Windows user account called IUSR_DOQUMENTS on the machine on which the folder/DB is located. The password for this account must be the same as the password specified for the IUSR_DOQUMENTS user on the machine on which doQuments Web Client is installed. Then assign the IUSR_DOQUMENTS user permissions as listed below...

1.For the doQuments Security DB
In case of MS Access based doQuments Security DB...

MODIFY permissions on the folder in which the doQuments Security DB (a file called doQuments.dqs) is located.

In case of MS SQL Server based doQuments Security DB (if MS SQL Server is configured for Windows Authentication)...

Provide the IUSR_DOQUMENTS  permissions in SQL Server to access the DB

2.For the doQuments Settings DB

MODIFY permissions on the folder in which the doQuments Settings DB (a file called Settings.dqs) is located.

3.For a doQuments DB that you intend to use with the web client
In case of MS Access based doQuments DBs...

MODIFY permissions on the folder in which the doQuments DB (a file with a .DQD extension) is located.

In case of MS SQL Server based doQuments DBs (if MS SQL Server is configured for Windows Authentication)...

Provide the IUSR_DOQUMENTS  permissions in SQL Server to access the DB

4.For a Storage Folder of a doQuments DB that you intend to use with the web client

MODIFY permissions on the doQuments DB's Storage folder

E.g. For a DB called Test.DQD the storage folder would by default would be located at...
C:\doQuments databases\Test\DefaultStorage

5.For the System Folder of a doQuments DB that you intend to use with the web client

MODIFY permissions on the doQuments DB's System folder.

E.g. For a DB called Test.DQD the system folder would by default would be located at...
C:\doQuments databases\Test\System

6.Make sure that the permissions applied to the System folder propagate all the folders inside it.
