Step 3 - Configure Internet Information Services (IIS) (Windows XP)

   

Configure Internet Information Server after you install the doQuments Web Client.

1.Open the Control Panel. (To open the Control Panel click the Start menu and click on the Control Panel menu option in the Settings menu) This will open the Control Panel window.
 

 
2.Double click the Administrative Tools option in the Control Panel window. The Administrative Tools window will be displayed.
 

 
3.Double click the Internet Information Services option in the Administrative Tools window. The Internet Information Services window will be displayed.
 

 
4.Expand the Default Web Site node to locate the folder node doquments.
5.Right click the doquments folder and click on the Properties menu item on the popup menu. The doquments Properties dialog will be displayed.
 

 
6.On the Directory page click the Create button under Application Settings. The Application name box will be enabled and will contain the text "doquments".
 

 
7.Move to the Directory Security page.
 

 
8.Click on the Edit... button under the Anonymous access and authentication control section. The Authentication Methods dialog will be displayed.
 

 
 
9.Make sure that both the Basic authentication check box and the Integrated Windows authentication check box are unchecked. Check the Anonymous access check box if unchecked .
10.Clear (uncheck) the Allow IIS to control password check box.
11.Enter the Username as IUSR_DOQUMENTS and enter the password used while creating this user account in Windows. Click on the OK button to save the changes and close the dialog. You will be prompted to confirm the password. Re-enter the password to confirm and click on the OK button to close the dialog.
 
12.Click on the OK button on the Authentication Methods dialog to save the changes and close the dialog.
13.Move to the Custom Errors page. In the list scroll down and select the entry 500;100 URL /iisHelp/common/500-100.asp
 

 
14.Now click the Edit Properties... button. The Error Mapping Properties dialog will be displayed.
 

 
15.In the URL box change the existing text to /doquments/error.asp and click the OK button the save the changes and close the dialog.
16.Click on the OK button on the Properties dialog to save the changes made and close the dialog.
