You can use the Globodox Live Disc module to create distributable CDs/DVDs containing your DB, documents and the Globodox Viewer. The DB content can then be queried and viewed on machines on which Globodox is not installed.
The Globodox Live Disc module exports the entire DB as a package along with the Globodox viewer. You can also copy this package to any portable drive, e.g. Pen Drive. You can distribute this CD or use it for archival purposes. The Globodox Viewer can be run from the CD/DVD/USB drive without requiring any installation on the host machine. The Globodox Viewer is a lite version of Globodox without any advanced functionality.
Please note that...
| 1. | You can only view and search for documents. You cannot modify them. |
| 2. | The Globodox Viewer itself does not require any installation on the host machine but it can only work on Windows machines (XP or higher) on which Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 is installed. The .Net framework is freely available for download. Most recent versions of Windows already have it. |
To Use the Live Disc Module
| 1. | In Globodox, open the DB that you want to distribute or archive. |
| 2. | Select the Tools tab and click the Live Disc option. The Live Disc Creator dialog will be launched. |
| 3. | Click the Browse button to specify a folder to export the package. It is recommended to use an empty folder. |
| 4. | Once you have specified the location click the Create button to create the package. |
| 5. | Once the data is exported click the Close button to close the wizard. |
| 6. | Using windows explorer browse to the folder where you have exported the package. |
| 7. | Burn the files that are present in the folder on a CD/DVD or copy it to a removable drive, e.g. Pen Drive. |
| 8. | You can distribute this CD for viewing or you can archive it. |
| 9. | You can insert this CD/DVD on any machine on which Globodox is not installed. When you insert the CD you may get the AutoPlay window, you can either click the Run start.bat option or you can click the Open folder to view files option and double click the start.bat file to launch the Globodox Viewer. |
| 10. | If you do not get the AutoPlay window, then browse to your CD/DVD drive. Double click the drive to launch the Globodox Viewer. You can also open the drive and double click the start.bat file to launch the Globodox Viewer. |
| 11. | Enter your login details to log into Globodox Viewer. |
| 12. | Please note you can only view and search for documents. You cannot modify them. |

| • | You can use this feature to carry your Globodox DBs anywhere with you, distribute your Globodox DB to multiple users or to archive your Globodox DBs. |
