Sohodox is an easy to use scanning software that can be used to scan documents from any TWAIN supported scanners. There is no need to use the scanners buttons to scan your documents you can do this from Sohodox Scan window. There is also no need to use the scanner's interface or its control panel for scanning. The entire configuration that is needed to scan a document is available on the Sohodox Scan window.
Documents can be scanned as color, black & white or gray scale and can be saved as PDF, Tiff, JPEG etc. Sohodox can also correct your scanned documents or photos by using tools such as rotate, flip, crop, adjust brightness/contrast/color etc. You can also merge two scanned documents from the Scan window. Scanned documents can also be moved to a specified Sohodox folder or assigned a Document Type using the Destination pane of the Scan Window.
Sohodox also support scanners with an ADF (Automatic Document Feeder). Such scanners allow users to place a stack of documents on the scanner/ADF tray. These documents are then automatically picked up by the ADF and fed to the scanner without requiring manual intervention. ADF scanners are extremely convenient if you need to scan a lot of documents. Sohodox also support duplex scanning (if your scanner supports it)
You can also annotate your scanned documents by using the Annotation toolbar. Sohodox annotation is very easy to use. Using the annotation toolbar you can mark, highlight, insert notes/bookmarks/stamps and signature. You can also create your custom stamps and signatures in Sohodox. Sohodox has Mini toolbar which makes it very convenient to modify an existing annotation. You can also print documents with the annotation. You can also burn the annotations on the documents to make them permanently a part of the image. You can arrange your documents in folders or quickly classify documents by attaching multiple text tags to them. You can also use a combination of both these methods.

Scan
With scanning built into Sohodox, you can scan single or multi-page documents and save them as TIFF or PDF. Sohodox supports all TWAIN compatible scanners including ones with ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) attachment. It also supports duplex scanning.
Annotation
Highlight or mark certain part of a document and add a Note beside it. Add Stamps as well as your Signature to a document.
Image Editor
The Image Editor allows you to modify images and save it back to the
Sohodox DB. Using this window you can crop certain area of the image, rotate or flip an image. You can also burn the annotation i.e. make them permanent on the document.
OCR
Text from image files can be extracted using built-in OCR (Optical Character Recogniztion). The extracted text can be used for searching.
Search
Sohodox offers a quick search box as well as a way of creating multi condition queries (for e.g. All invoices under $500 from January 2008). You can even save queries for later re-use.
Folders and Tags
You can arrange your documents in folders or quickly classify documents by attaching multiple text tags to them. You can also use a combination of both these methods.
